Research Project
Covariant Phase Space Methods and Asymptotic Symmetries in Gravitational Theories
The aim of this PhD project is to investigate the structure of asymptotic symmetries in gravitational theories using the covariant phase space formalism. The covariant phase space approach provides a systematic and geometrically well-defined framework to study conserved charges, symmetries, and their associated algebra directly at the level of the space of solutions. A central focus of the project will be the analysis of asymptotic symmetry groups and their corresponding charges in various physical settings, with particular attention to recent developments in celestial holography. The project will explore how asymptotic symmetries emerge and how they encode physically relevant information about scattering processes and boundary dynamics.
