SSD: MATH-03/A

CFU: 2 CFU + assignment: 2 CFU

Period: February 2025

Lessons / Hours: 4 lectures, 8 hours

Program:

We review the Conley-Zehnder index theory for planar Hamiltonian systems, with special emphasis on its relationship with rotation and stability properties. If time permits, extensions to higher dimension and/or applications to nonlinear systems will be discussed as well.

Prerequisites: Theory of ordinary differential equations, linear algebra, and basic notions on critical point theory.
