  1. Basic models for infectious disease spread
  2. Fundamental epidemiological concepts (the exponential growth rate and reproduction number, final size, critical vaccination threshold)
  3. Linear chain trick to relax the exponential distribution assumption
  4. Time since infection and structured model
  5. Multi-type models
  6. The next-generation matrix and the basic reproduction number
  7. Advanced topics (time permitting): numerical methods, application to contact tracing, type reproduction number

Prerequisites: Basic linear algebra, basic calculus, ordinary differential equations
