Period: April/May 2023
Lessons / Hours: 4 lessons of 2 hours each
Program:
Biological and bio-inspired locomotion is usually described by recognizing relative-periodic orbits, or gaits, in the dynamics: periodicity is observed in the shape change, while the geometric phase corresponds to the displacement after one period of any reference point of the body. In this course we will discuss and characterize relative periodicity in several locomotion models. We will introduce some tools and results from fixed-point theory and apply them to study existence, structural properties, and stability of relative periodic solutions in different situations. |
