Integrating Deep Learning and Software Engineering

Deep Learning revolutionized how software is developed and validated, since it has already made multiple aspects of the software development life cycle (e.g., testing and repair) more effective and efficient. On the other hand, Deep Learning components are widely adopted in modern software systems, including safety-critical ones such as cyber-physical systems. Thus, it is crucial to devise novel techniques for rigorously testing such software to ensure high reliability and dependability. This project aims at leveraging the interplay between Software Engineering and Deep Learning to improve the software development life cycle and provide novel solutions that can be relevant for both Academia and Industry.
