Boosting Digital Heritage with AI to derive enlightening information

A proper treatment, processing and interpretation of digital data is a highly important topic for the preservation and the valorisation of Cultural Heritage. Therefore the development of innovative solutions for extracting informative knowledge in the shortest amount of time is a matter of major relevance. With the introduction of ML solutions, the automation of many of these procedures advanced further and produced significant results.

The research project, conducted at the University of Udine in collaboration with Bruno Kessler Foundation, aims at developing AI-based pipelines to process 2D and 3D data with the goal of improving the semantic value and understanding of digital Cultural Heritage for preservation and valorisation purposes in a transparent, explainable and interpretable way.
