Ciaramella: a novel audio dsp programming language based on synchronous data flow
Audio-specific programming languages are a field of interest for both the academia and the audio industry. My research project consists in exploring new approaches to audio programming adopting concepts and models from different fields. In particular, declarative semantics and the synchronous data flow computational model are investigated as they provide high-level abstractions to effectively represent and manipulate audio streams. The aim of the research is to define a new programming language, Ciaramella, and to develop a compiler that is portable and optimization-focused.
