Computer Vision for Environmental River Analysis through UAVs
The project proposes an innovative use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) to monitor riverine ecosystems. These advanced tools enable high-resolution data collection and analysis through computer vision algorithms running onboard UAV systems, providing a detailed and multidimensional view of river dynamics. Customized hardware, including hyperspectral sensors, ground-penetrating radar, and thermal cameras, offers an in-depth understanding of environmental features. The integrated software system supports autonomous flight control, sensor data fusion, and advanced analysis, optimizing energy efficiency and precision. This innovative approach, combining cutting-edge technology and conservation strategies, demonstrates significant potential for protecting river ecosystems while balancing local development and animal preservation.
